A woman plays many roles in her life. She is a daughter, a wife and a mother. Every woman obviously wants to be a good daughter, a good wife and a good mother too. She has to give lots of love in order to be all these ‘goods’. But just love is not enough to be a good wife. Some skills and qualities are required to be a good wife and of course for a healthy marriage. My advice to all the housewives is to be a good wife and then expect your man to be a good husband! Also it’s easy to be in unconditional love in the earlier stages of a relationship but to continue your relationship with the same spark in the later years you need to do a lot of things.

I dedicate this article to all the married women and those singles ladies out there desiring to settle down as a wife some day.
Here are the qualities that a good wife must have.

1. Quit Nagging
There is a proverb that a nagging wife annoys like a constant dripping. I absolutely agree with that. Who doesn’t get annoyed by nagging? Nagging and complaining constantly may create an unwanted rift in your relationship. It can also become a vicious cycle forcing him to avoid you. This will definitely complicate the things between you and make them worse. How do you expect him to like you if he feels personally attacked by your nagging? Nagging doesn’t work, so just quit it. Ask him nicely and I bet that he’ll definitely consider what you are saying. Remember that a good wife doesn’t nag!

2. Look good, Charm him
Most women believe that it doesn’t matter how they look after marriage. But the truth is it definitely does matter. Married women tend to gain weight, become fat and lose their shape. Ladies, you have to take care that you look attractive even after marriage or else men can find their own way! So it is necessarily important that you captivate all his attention only on you. This will definitely keep him from cheating you. Husbands really love good looking wives. They will do anything to please them!

3. Be Unpredictable, Surprise him often
Even though there is an issue as to whether being unpredictable is a good thing in marriage or not, according to me it just spices up the relationship.
Relationships get boring if they are too predictable. You just have to take care that the unpredictable things you do are not disturbing! Surprising your husband with thoughtful gifts every now and then, special candle light dinners or even special romantic nights with you playing the seductress will help you grab his attention! Even small surprises like making his favourite snack or dish once in a while will do. You can also come up with some creative ways of surprising him. The central idea is to give him the thrill of surprise and remember that men like surprises too! I personally surprise my wife with special perfumes most times am returning from work. so I believe it will equally spice up the love in the marriage.

4. Organize the house, be a good maid
Keep your house clean and organized. The healthy atmosphere you create in your home will lift his mood. Come up with innovative ideas to make your home a peaceful place for him. Don’t ever feel burdened doing all the chores. It’s not a bad idea after all. Make him dependent on you by doing all his chores. He’ll surely miss you and think about you when you are not around! Let’s be reminded of a quote in this context “A wife is a friend first, a lover second, and third and probably most important, a maid.”

5. All the positive qualities
A good wife is pleasant and she is not rude. To be a good wife you must be warm, kind, affectionate, caring, understanding, positive, obedient and friendly. You should also be responsible, reliable and give him confidence to do anything. All these qualities will make your husband comfortable around you. When your husband returns home after a hard day at work a warm welcoming smile will make his day! You have to possess all these positive qualities. You have to be loyal and support him both in his success and failure. You should be at his side especially in times of hardship. Most important of all respect your husband and you’ll definitely get back his respect!

6. A Guy needs his Space
You must accept that your husband has a life other than you. There are other people too in his life like his family, friends and workmates. He also has his hobbies, interests and passions too. Don’t stop him from having this other life. Give him his space. Let him do whatever he wants to and this will make him love you more. One straight point is that an interfering wife is so irritating. Don’t interfere, don’t irritate and he’ll love you back! This should not in anyway make the husband take undue advantage over the situation.

7. Sexual Intimacy
If a husband is not met with his sexual needs it can be reflected in his mood. If your husband is frustrated, often the reason might be that his sexual desire is not being fulfilled.
One of the reasons why most marriages fail is because of lack of exciting sexual relationship! According to a research the reason why most men cheat is mostly physical whereas for women it is emotional! Make your husband happy in bed. The best way to satisfy your husband is to think in his shoes and give him what he needs.

8. Don’t hide your love
As you may know hiding your love is of no use. Don’t withhold your love. Express it to him. He’ll definitely appreciate that. Join in his activities and spend as much time as is possible with him. Complement and praise him very often. Small gestures are enough to show your love. Remember the special days in his life, celebrate every small occasion in a simple manner that he will enjoy and get unique gifts for him as a token of your love. Bring joy to him with these small but unique ideas and he’ll never forget the special moments and memories you create.

9. Be open with your feelings
A guy will trust you only if you open up to him. Be honest with your husband. Trust him with everything. Don’t keep secrets from him. You can earn his trust this way. Relationships succeed only if there is mutual trust! Make it compulsory to talk to him daily about how his day was spent. Listen to what he says patiently and understand his feelings. Remain calm if any difficult discussion arises and try to sort it out. Assure him that you are there for him. Good communication will strengthen your bond!

10. Compatibility
There are many personality traits that attract you and your husband to each other making you both compatible with each other but they may not hold up over time. And if this dissimilarity arises you can’t suddenly call yourselves incompatible. You should understand that compatibility isn’t something you have but instead it’s something you make. A good wife takes care that she doesn’t grow apart from her husband. She makes herself compatible with her husband. You must be wondering how this can be achieved. The answer is simple, by improving your relationship skills you can get along better with your husband. This includes making compromises and solving your conflicts. You have to tolerate the burden of being bored and dissatisfied. Remember these lines “A perfect wife is one who doesn’t expect a perfect husband”. Create compatibility and eventually you will become soul mates!

You may be having doubts whether this will work out or not but trust me, these things that you do for him will not go unnoticed. In fact these will increase his love for you and even inspire him to do things for you. Also most of the things mentioned in this article are not just mere ideas of a writer. Villagers in Kapsir, a rural outpost in Boito area in Kericho County, are yet to wrap their minds around probably the shortest marriage and most bizarre separation case ever to happen in their locale.

This is after, perhaps desperate for the slightest of reasons to walk out of her two-month arranged marriage, a woman fed up with her dirty and inconsiderate husband separated from him due to his habit of farting in bed, among other pet peeves.

It is alleged that the man, a tea picker only identified as Serut, is so averse to bathing that his wife had to literally beg him to do so every evening and morning.

That Serut, who is believed to be in his mid-thirties, also had to be sweet-talked to, among other basic hygiene routines, brush his teeth goes on to explain how unhygienic he was.

Tired of pleading with the alleged alcoholic and chain-smoker to observe personal hygiene, the long-suffering woman is believed to have been looking for a way out of the marriage.

The 27-year-old woman, only identified as Jackie, left village mates in stitches after she claimed she could not live with a dirty man who loudly breaks wind in bed and at times laughs about it without apologising or even minding his partner’s feelings.

Perhaps to prove that hell has no furry like a woman scorned, the pissed off woman bore it all to relatives and neigbours, telling them how her husband has to be begged to shower, brush his teeth, change underwear, among other basics, just like a small child.

Interestingly, Serut had been a long-standing bachelor who had to be forced into an arranged marriage by an aunt who was worried of him dying without having sired a child.

Their marriage was barely in its second month, when the fed up woman threw in the towel. She claimed she cannot continue living under the same roof with a dirty man. She asked villagers to empathize with her situation by imagining themselves living with a man who, after sweating in the tea plantation and spending the entire day in gumboots, returns home and gets in bed without bathing, changing underwear and expects a receptive wife in bed during intimacy.

Serut’s family members who had been relieved that he had finally settled down were thrown into panic with the news of his wife leaving, with some trying to plead with her to hang on.

All the attempts failed as the woman stuck to her guns, claiming that their kin was not only dirty but also stingy. Efforts by an embarrassed Serut to calm her down, whilst accusing her of overreacting and giving lame excuses to desert him, fell on deaf ears.

After disgracing and bandying words with him in front of his kin, the woman – with her clothes and other belongings safely tucked into a plastic bag – hopped onto a motor bike and left.

Start each day with a sacred assembly and end it the same way.

Sometimes you will feel like not attending classes, yet you have to.

When tempted to quit find courage and continue.

Some tests and exams may be tough but remember,

the Principal knows how much you can bear and yet

it's a school better than any other.

It's one of the best schools on earth;

joy, peace and happiness accompany each lesson of the day.

Different subjects are offered in this school, yet love is the major subject.

After all the years of theorizing about it, now you have a chance to practice it.

To be loved is a good thing, but to love is the greatest privilege of them all.

Exposing your face to UV rays without a protective coating of sunscreen can lead to premature wrinkles, and it has the same effect on chest sag by stretching out collagen and damaging skin, says Edwards.

4. Wearing an Unsupportive Bra 
Whether it’s the boulder holder you wear during the day or the sports bra you change into at the gym, not sporting proper support is a big reason for droop. “The more your b**bs bounce around, the more stressed chest skin and collagen become,” says Edwards. Stop in a lingerie shop and ask for a fitting just to make sure you’re wearing the right bra for your shape.

The wedding time is one of the most important points in a person’s lifetime, and everyone desires to have a great wedding.

The preparation for a wedding ceremony is not a uphill task if you know what it takes and follow the right principles.
Wedding is an official ceremony that signifies the commencement of a new home.
So you just got engaged and you’re thinking about how you’re going to plan your wedding. You’ve made the right move.
Here are 31 things to do when you and your partner have agreed to marry.

1. Pray: I and wife prayed and fasted every wednesday of the week while planning for our wedding. That made our wedding one of the best in the world.
So many don't pray while planning for their weddings. That's why the enemy take advantage of their joyful day.

Prayer is so important to the success of your wedding because it is a supernatural force that can ensure your efforts are successful. Pray as you make plans for your wedding. Pray about the wedding day, the officiating ministers, both families, weather condition of the proposed date, the photographers, videographer, their cameras and their equipments, the caterers and the meal to be cooked for the day. Pray against disappointment from any quarters. Pray and put your trust in God to supply your needs.

2. Attend Pre-marital Counseling. Don't think you know all about marriage. Go for pre-wedding counselling and make sure you complete your marriage class. Speak to a professional marriage counsellor, not just your pastors. Read at least 15 marriage books before your wedding day. You can even attend a marriage school.

3. Decide what sort of wedding you want to have and make up a budget. Some people spend all they have and even borrow to finance their wedding. It’s not advisable. Set a budget that you can fund without necessarily crossing a line. Then get to work with that.

4. Set up a planning team. That’s if you don’t prefer to hire a wedding planner. This team could comprise few of your close friends. You can brainstorm with them and they can go through all the pre-wedding stuff with you. You could really use their ideas and assistance.

5. Arrange to meet your partner’s parents and also for them to meet yours. You want to get to know your prospective in laws beforehand and you want your partner to get to know your people too.

6. Pick a wedding date. Once everyone has pitched in and the coast is clear, pick a date that you can work with.  It doesn’t have to be specific to a day at first. You could pick a month for the time being and start working toward that. Then later when things are shaping up you can set a specific date.

7. Start planning your guest list. Which people are you looking to invite for your wedding? It’s time to write some names and envisage what guests you’d like to see on your special day.

8. Start looking for venues for your ceremonies. Venues get booked up often. Make enquiries, look out on time and do a shortlist of the ones you intend to consider.

9. Shop for your wedding gown. You don’t want to leave this very important part of your big day to the last minute.

10. Envision how the wedding will look like. What will you serve the guests? What type of entertainment would you like at the event? Will it be a DJ or a band? Start figuring these things out and let your planning team weigh in on that too.

11. Link up with the professionals. Ask your friends to link you up with professionals you’ll need for your wedding including the caterers, MC, the photographers and so on. Then get in touch with those you think can do the job.

12. Start drawing up a list of expenses for the wedding. You’ve checked out the venue you want to use. You’ve spoken to the people you’ll be hiring to work at your wedding. Start piecing the costs together and look it over with your team and your partner.

13. Make your bookings. You want to book with the DJ, the MC, the band and any other people you intend to hire early. You also want to book the venue for the reception. The earlier you book with the people, the better.

14. Pick wears for the wedding. Figure out what styles and colours your people will be wearing.

15. Start planning your honeymoon. Get a nice hotel or travel out of the country for your honeymoon if you have the money. Don't be like a prayer warrior brother who took his wife to a prayer mountain after their wedding ceremony. So sad. That's not the time to kill demon.  That's the time to have beautiful sex and romance.

16. Purchase your wedding rings and your wedding bible.

17. Start shopping for the clothes you and your people will wear for the ceremonies.

18. Decide what type of wedding cake you’ll want and book with the designer who will make it.

19. Send out your invitations about two months ahead so your prospective guests have enough time to plan to attend.

20. Book your stylist and figure out what hairstyle you’ll rock on the big day. Also book a makeup artist and do some trials to test out stuff.

21. Apply for a marriage license. Check with the local registry.

22. Be in touch with your people. Ring your bridesmaids and groomsmen and make sure they know how things are coming along. Keep in touch with those who will be working at your wedding (caterers, MC and so on) and fine tune your arrangements with them.

23. Create a wedding program to hand out to guests.

24. Iron out reception plans with the caterer and the other professionals who will be on the ground at the reception.

25. Give ceremony venue managers a schedule of delivery and setup times plus contact numbers so that everyone’s on the same page.

26. Make sure you’ve paid those you hired before the wedding.

27. Present parents and each other with gifts.

28. Introduce your venue manager to your best man or maid of honour for questions or problems during the reception.

29. Assign a friend or relative to be the photographer’s contact so he knows who is who.

30. Remember to thank friends, family and workers who helped to make your wedding succeed.

31. Enjoy A Happy Married Life.

A man reached 70 years of age and was affected by a disease which made him unable to urinate.

The doctors told him that he needs an operation to cure the disease.

He agreed to do the operation as the problem was giving him severe pain for days.

When the operation was completed the doctor gave him a bill which covered all the costs.

After looking at the bill, the man started crying. Upon seeing this, the doctor said "If the cost is too high then we could make some other arrangements for you.

"The old man replied, "I am not crying because of the money but I am crying because God let me urinate for 70 years and He never sent me a bill!"

Many young people are increasingly dying as a result of kidney disease.

HOW TO AVERT THE MENACE OF KIDNEY DISEASE:

1. Stop delaying going to a toilet.
Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea.
A full bladder can cause bladder damage.
The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly.
Once the urine refluxes back to the urether and kidneys, toxic substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and nephritis, plus uremia.
When nature calls do it as soon as possible.

2. Eating too much salt.
You should eat not more than 5.8 grams of salt daily.

3. Eating too much meat.
Too much protein in your diet is harmful for your kidneys.
Protein digestion produces ammonia – a toxin that is very destructive to your kidneys. More meat equals more kidney damage.

4. Drinking too much caffeine.
Caffeine is a component of many sodas and soft drinks. It raises your blood pressure and your kidneys start suffering.
You should cut down the amount of Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull, etc that you drink daily.

5. Not drinking water.
Our kidneys should be hydrated properly to perform their functions well.
If we don’t drink enough, the toxins can start accumulating in the blood, as there isn’t enough fluid to drain them through kidneys.

***Drink more than 10 glasses of water daily.
There is an easy way to check if you are drinking enough water: Look at the colour of your urine; the lighter the colour, the better.

6. Late treatment.
Treat all your health problems properly and have your health checked regularly.

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning
service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven
year old son would go out into their town and
hand out Gospel Tracts
This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came
time for the Pastor and his son to go to the
streets with their tracts, it was very cold
outside, as well as pouring rain
The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest
clothes and said, 'OK, dad, I'm ready.'
His Pastor dad asked, 'Ready for what?'
'Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together
and go out.'
Dad responds, 'Son, it's very cold outside and
it's pouring rain.'
The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking,
'But Dad, aren't people still going to Hell, even
though it's raining?'
Dad answers, 'Son, I am not going out in this
weather.'
Despondently, the boy asks, 'Dad, can I go?
Please?'
His father hesitated for a moment then said,
'Son, you can go. Here are the tracts, be
careful son.'
'Thanks Dad!'
And with that, he was off and out into the rain.
This eleven year old boy walked the streets of
the town going door to door and handing
everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract .
After two hours of walking in the rain, he was
soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY
LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked
for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets
were totally deserted.
Then he turned toward the first home he saw
and started up the sidewalk to the front door
and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but
nobody answered.
He rang it again and again, but still no one
answered. He waited but still no answer.
Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to
leave, but something stopped him.
Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell
and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He
waited, something holding him there on the
front porch!
He rang again and this time the door slowly
opened.
Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking
elderly lady. She softly asked, 'What can I do
for you, son?' With radiant eyes and a smile
that lit up her world, this little boy said, 'Ma'am,
I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to
tell you that * JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU *
and I came to give you my very last Gospel
Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His
great LOVE..'
With that, he handed her his last tract and
turned to leave.
She called to him as he departed. 'Thank you,
son! And God Bless You!'
Well, the following Sunday morning in church
Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service
began, he asked, 'Does anybody have testimony
or want to say anything?'
Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly
lady stood to her feet.
As she began to speak, a look of glorious
radiance came from her face, 'No one in this
church knows me. I've never been here before.
You see, before last Sunday I was not a
Christian. My husband passed on some time ago,
leaving me totally alone in this world. Last
Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day,
it was even more so in my heart that I came to
the end of the line where I no longer had any
hope or will to live.
So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the
stairway into the attic of my home. I fastened
the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then
stood on the chair and fastened the other end
of the rope around my neck. Standing on that
chair, so lonely and broken-hearted I was about
to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of
my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought,
'I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go
away.'
I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell
seemed to get louder and more insistent, and
then the person ringing also started knocking
loudly...
I thought to myself again, 'Who on earth could
this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to
see me.' I loosened the rope from my neck and
started for the front door, all the while the bell
rang louder and louder.
When I opened the door and looked I could
hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front
porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy
I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could
never describe it to you!
The words that came from his mouth caused my
heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE
as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice,
'Ma'am, I just came to tell you that JESUS
REALLY DOES LOVE YOU .' Then he gave me this
Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.
As the little angel disappeared back out into the
cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly
every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up
to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't
be needing them any more.
You see-- -I am now a Happy Child of the KING.
Since the address of your church was on the
back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to
personally say THANK YOU to God's little angel
who came just in the nick of time and by
so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in
hell.'
There was not a dry eye in the church. And as
shouts of praise and honour to THE KING
resounded off the very rafters of the building,
Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the
front pew where the little angel was seated..
He took his son in his arms and sobbed
uncontrollably.
Probably no church has had a more glorious
moment, and probably this universe has never
seen a Papa that was more filled with love &
honour for his son... Except for One.

Reports of kidnapping have become common in Nigeria. Though not a new trend, kidnappers have continued to devise new methods to lure victims. Below are some of the new tricks to watch out for:

1. Ploy at parties
In this method, a note is dubiously passed to the master of ceremonies requesting the owner of an identified vehicle to come out and move his or her vehicle to allow others parking access. Immediately the individual gets to his car, the kidnappers grab the person and zoom off in the car.

This was what happened to Mr. Remi Olakunri who was kidnapped at a party venue in Lagos some months ago.

Olakunri, who drove an SUV to the venue, heard his car’s number plate called out by the emcee, requesting him to step outside to move his vehicle. As Olakunri got to his car, three men grabbed him and forced him to drive off in his vehicle. Over N1m ransom was paid before his abductors released him.

2. Road blocks
The modus operandi of kidnappers includes mounting road blocks on highways in military uniforms and staging a surprise attack on unsuspecting motorists.

An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Victor Olabimtan, was abducted by gunmen after he declared his interest to contest the state’s governorship election.

Olabimtan was on his way to Abuja when some persons in military attire, who dubiously manned a road block on the expressway kidnapped him.

3. Disguising as church members
There have been several reports of how kidnappers found their way into churches, disguised as church members and waited for the service to end before carrying out their criminal act.

A pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Isawo branch, Ikorodu, Lagos, was recently abducted by gunmen who disguised as members of the church and whisked him away after the service.

4. Isolated ATMs
According to a security expert, Mr. Pedro Ayandokun, kidnappers now target isolated automated teller machines with long queues of customers.

“These kidnappers look out for the last person in a queue because such individual will be an easy target for them. Nigerians should avoid using isolated ATMs even during the day. Bank customers should always use ATMs within the confines of a bank,” he said.

5. Fake job interviews
Text messages for job interviews are randomly sent to the mobile phones of persons who did not apply for the job. Their agenda is to get desperate job seekers to an arranged venue and hold them before contacting their relatives to pay ransom.

A victim, Mr. Segun Abiodun, who travelled to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for a job interview was abducted by those who purportedly had a job offer for him. His abductors initially demanded N5m before it was reduced to N2m.

6. Neighbours as bait
Security agencies have constantly warned Nigerians against opening their doors for neighbours at odd hours.

It had been observed that kidnappers, rather than heading for the house of their potential victim directly, use the person’s neighbour to knock on the door or gate of their potential victim. Their belief is that their target would open the door for the neighbour.

7. Luring children with gifts
Two months ago, Bayo Adeyemi, a male pupil of a school in Okokomaiko area of Lagos State, was kidnapped on his way home after closing hours.

Bayo and his brother were on their way home when the kidnappers, who were in a bus, accosted them on the road and gave the elder brother N100 to buy candy and biscuits. The victim offered to run the errand with his younger brother but they ordered him to leave his brother behind.

While returning from the errand, he discovered that the bus was leaving. Being a child, rather than raise the alarm, he ran home to alert his mother and before they arrived at the scene, the kidnappers had disappeared with his brother.

Commenting on the development, a security consultant, Mr. Simon Udie, said every Nigerian should be extremely vigilant.

“Nigerians should observe every strange happening around them. The criminal mind is just as good as an intelligent mind, they try to use new tactics to lure their victims,” he said.

8. Switching off generators
When kidnappers identify a house that is easily penetrable, especially at night, they locate where the electricity switch box is and disconnect the power source. They wait for any of the occupants to come out to check what might have happened. In the process, he or she is kidnapped. They may also switch off generator to lure their target.

Mr. Tunji Ajayi who resides in Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State could have fallen victim but for his suspicion.

He said his generator was switched off after some persons gained entry to his compound. He told our correspondent that when they noticed that he didn’t come out after they had waited for hours; they walked out of his compound.

9. Pretending as relatives
The ninety-year-old father of Mr. Oluwole Adalumo, who owns a hotel in Ikole, Ekiti State, Ajagunna Adalumo fell victim to this technique. He was kidnapped from his house at Oke-Ijebu, Ikole Ekiti. Bimbo Ajayi, who is a relative of the victim, said the kidnappers came into the premises of the aged man around 8pm. Ajayi said a man entered the house of Pa Adalumo under the pretence that the victim’s son sent him to the old man. He later drove him away in a car he brought.

10. Lifts
As much as many would want to offer help to persons in need, giving strangers a lift could be a wrong move. There was a report last year of one Mrs. Abike Lawal who visited a popular shopping mall in Lagos. As she was about to leave, she noticed that one of her tyres had been slashed.

In her disturbed state, a friendly, well-dressed and articulate young man showed up like a knight in shining armour to help her. After assisting her, he asked for a ride to where he said he parked his car. Without waiting for her response, he entered the car but the woman suspected foul play and excused herself to buy something.

She went to a security guard and told him what happened. The security guard went with her to the car but the young man had left.

In 2013, a report by Sheriff Deputies Limited, a private Security Company in Nigeria, stated that the South-West had the highest incidence of kidnapping with five per cent, followed by the South-East and South-South with four per cent each.

It noted that North-West and North-East each had an incidence of three per cent, with the lowest being North-Central at two per cent.

The Lagos State Police Command said between January and June this year, there were 19 cases of kidnappings.

The spokesperson for the command, Dolapo Badmos, told SUNDAY PUNCH that 15 suspected kidnappers had been charged to court.

Badmos also said culprits involved in robbery and pipeline vandalism had turned to kidnapping.

She added that some of the communities vulnerable to kidnapping are those close to waterways, because kidnappers could quickly escape with their victims without encountering an immediate chase by residents or security officials.

A security consultant, Mr. Bunmi Odukoya, said kidnapping of Nigerians had increased.

Odukoya said, “Criminals know that police are rarely contacted after a kidnap and that families are quick to pay ransom for the release of their relatives. Kidnappers can be particularly brutal and can physically assault their victims and those delivering ransoms.”

Insufficient security agents

The current number of police officers is said to be about 370,000 to about 170 million Nigerians.This fell short of the United Nations recommendation of 222 police officers per 100,000 persons.

President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the recruitment of 10,000 policemen into the nation’s Police Force to reinforce the police for better service.

Another security expert and Chairman Mentorship Committee, American Society for Industrial Security, Abuja Chapter, Prof. Femi Adegbulu, said it appeared that the law enforcement agents had lost the battle to kidnappers.

“Most cases of kidnap are between you and your God. It depends on your negotiating power for your loved one to be freed, if kidnapped. We hear reports saying no ransom was paid, but those criminals are not foolish. These criminals risk their lives to kidnap an individual, and they know that if caught, they would be jailed or face death penalty. Why then would they kidnap someone and not get money?’’ he stated.

Badmos said parents have a moral and physical duty to protect their children.

She added, ‘‘People living close to waterways should be sensitive and extremely security conscious. We have foiled about two kidnap attempts in partnership with the communities involved.”

It’s more than 20minutes, I’m still unable to put words together to begin this story. I will try keep it simple and necessarily detailed so everyone will understand the true picture of what happened, why against my belief that writing personal experiences on social media is immature, I had to still write mine. Let’s just say I’m not thinking right now, maybe I’m so upset but truth is, I need your advice.

I’m writing this thread seated at the back of a Hilux truck just outside our apartment.

You see, today is EID and believe me I should be resting in the house since I’m not working today.

Days like this only come by 6times in a whole year and more than anything, I
would have loved resting than being out here.

It was yesterday evening, she called and said she and her driver were headed to my office. She wanted to pick some stuffs
around my office. Yaa, I forgot to say this is Saudi Arabia.

If you know Saudi quite well, you will agree with me that a husband will definitely get exhausted running errands for his wife or the family. I was not in the mood for shopping but she wanted to shop. She got upset that I didn’t want to
accompany her shopping.

She did her shopping alone and returned few minutes before I closed from work. We headed home.

Unknown to me, I forgot my internet router in my office because I was
rushing to get home and continue with my FIFA 16.

Her internet service expired some days back so we were using mine.

While playing game, she walked into the sitting room and demanded for my router. Mine, not hers. With her tone and facial expression demanding the router.

I didn’t respond because there was an indication that she was warming up for a quarrel. I wasn’t just in the mood. The thing is, she is very skilled in extending her anger phases. That is one thing I can’t understand till today. Believe me, it was not like this while we were dating. Sorry, I forgot to tell you I
married my university girlfriend, she is years my junior and the same department. Yes, I’m one of those guys that dated and planned for the future with their girls at the same time.

God blessed that plan but at this point I don’t understand everything that has been happening for the past one year
plus since we got married.

She repeatedly demanded that I
handed over my router to her but I was quiet. Meanwhile, it occurred to me that I forgot the router in my office the minute she first asked about it. Truth is, I actually needed to use the internet that night for my online FIFA.

After several times of asking for the router and no response from me, she took the TV remote and switched off the TV.
She walked straight to the kitchen and hid the remote. I approached her in the kitchen and told her I was not ready
for any kind of quarrel. We have had enough for the past one year of getting married.
I then told her I forgot the router in my office, I didn’t have it. I guess she didn’t believe me, she never did. She told me to leave her alone. I returned back to
the sitting room with my heart beating fast. I knew she wanted a serious quarrel that night. After some minutes, I returned to the kitchen and requested for the remote.

Then I figured out she hid it in her pant. Pretending I was passing by, I swiftly went for the remote from under her short gown and grabbed it. She didn’t expect I knew where she hid it.
She followed me behind and ceased the game console,
second indication she wanted me to react. I do have a problem with my temper just like every human, male or
female. I have also learnt to deal with it by walking away at times I feel I was going to lose it. The same reason I’m
outside at this time, 9:55 pm Saudi time.

She knows I have fought hard to tame my temper issues but most times, she makes deliberate efforts to have me overreact to her nags and rants.

I watched her hide the console in her pant yet again. I shuddered in obvious fear because I knew what the woman
wanted, a fight. Unable to deal with it, the intimidation and the shame, I went for the console and squeezed it out from
her hand while she was trying to hold it tight.

That was when the trouble then started. She wanted a buffer to help her spill everything she had nursed in her mind.
“You are a violent person!! You can kill, idiot!! You were not shown love
by your parents, that is why you will squeeze your wife’s hand to collect the console.
They allowed you to grow up in the street without parental guidance and love.”

Then it came….pwaaaaaaah!!! She spat on my face!!!!! God knows,
I have never been spat at before, not by my parents, not by my siblings, not by anybody. ” I agree I was not shown love
by my parents but your Dad is a coward for running away from your mother without being there for you guys when he
needed to play his roles as a father. That explains the reason you are like this”, I said and walked back to the sitting room.

I managed to play a few games which I lost mostly and then slept off around past 5am this morning.

Around 3pm, I woke up and went to the office. Not like I had work but I needed to clear my head away from the house. If only there was alcohol in Saudi, I would have been somewhere in a hotel drinking away the shame.

When I returned home by past 7pm, hungry and tired. I needed to continue my game but I could no longer find the game console and the TV remote. I asked for it and she ignored me. I managed to eat
and then left the house to this truck.

You see, I love my wife more than anything, more than anyone. She is one person in the whole world I could go any length for. I love her, that was why I forgave her when she broke up with me after I left Nigeria for Saudi Arabia.
She broke up with me few months after I came to Saudi and started dating another guy twice her age.
She says she never expected I would come back to her after she left me
but I did. I did because I saw a future with her, a future I imagined, believed in and worked towards its reality.

Today, we have gotten to a level where most people out there would want to be.
Our colleague's envy is because they
believe we are privileged and blessed but what they don’t know is that in the truth, I have no peace.
This marriage has become my legacy and my curse.

I want to send her back to Nigeria in few days time and I hope I’m not making a mistake!!! Spitting on my face, nah
nah….am so fed up!!!!

It's every woman’s dream to find her Prince Charming and live happily ever after. However, we’re so involved in finding the guy who we think is ‘right’ that we overlook so many things that are wrong about him.
For example; we meet a guy who seemingly matches our expectations i.e he’s good-looking, he’s nice etc. The fact is that because we’re so smitten over the guy, we refuse to acknowledge that we don’t actually know them that well.
This article will tell you about all the signs that indicate that your Prince Charming is more in love with himself than he is with you. I mean, he’s a Prince after all.

1- Everything is about him:
Sometimes you’ll feel like you’re not in a relationship with him because the only person he thinks about 24/7 is himself. He might put on a show as if you mean the world to him, but you’ll know deep down that it’s all pretend. Just to get you off of his back. You won’t get that genuine feeling of love and care from his side.
There might even be times when you think that it’s not him, it’s you. Like, you think that you’re the one who isn’t giving their all in the relationship. Here’s the thing, you found Mr.Perfect and now you can’t believe that they aren’t perfect. What do you do? You blame yourself.

Stop that right now. The more you convince yourself that you’re wrong, the harder it’ll get for you to get out of this toxic relationship. In fact, the more you flaw yourself and glorify him, you’re enlarging his ego.
Stop lying to yourself and admit that it isn’t ‘cute’ how he’s so overly cautious of his appearance or how you think it’s ‘sweet’ that he compares himself to major celebrities. There’s a certain limit to thinking about yourself, however, once you’re in a relationship you have to think of the other person or else the relationship won’t work.

2- It’s never your turn:
Here’s how a relationship works: two people who like each other express their feelings towards each other and from there on then, think of spending time together and maintaining that strong bond with each other.
If your boyfriend has a huge ego, then you probably sensed that he lost interest in the relationship. A relationship is one-sided if you’re the only one who’s putting in effort to make it all work.
Your boyfriend needs to pull his own weight. He needs to do the things which allows a relationship to grow and that involves listening to you and hearing your side of things, your feelings. Talking about feelings is a key part of making a relationship work.
Don’t listen to him when he says that he’s not ‘that type of a person’ who talks about his feelings. You want a second in the day where you can let him know about your troubles in the relationship. It’s not like you talk about everything in a whiny way. Without this, you’re back to the crush stage of things.

3- He criticises you a lot:
Nothing you do or say is ever perfect for him. Even though you’re smitten over him, he doesn’t feel the same way about you. You need to think twice before you take any step because you’re worried about what he’ll say. Will he like it? Will he say it’s fine? Basically, you’re handing over your ability to make your own decisions to him.
It’s not because you trust that he’ll make the right decisions either. It’s because you think that what he says goes. That’s what he wants you to think. That’s what’ll feed his ego.
You need to realise that if you entered the relationship by your own free will then you deserve the right to make your own decisions. You need to see that he’s not in a relationship with himself and that you’re a living, breathing person.
If something upsets you, say it. If something annoys you, point at it. If he’s being a jerk, let him know about it. Things can only work if both of you talk about whatever is on your mind. You shouldn’t have to keep shut up out of fear of what he might think about it.

4- He gets mad over the slightest things:
Basically, he’s either really happy when everything’s about him or really mad at you when there’s another person in the story. Not like you’re cheating on him or anything. He’s just really jealous over things even though he’s pretty boastful about himself.
You don’t have to put up with a guy who gets mad over the slightest things and is incredibly jealous over people whom you don’t even know that well. He’ll actively try to make it sound like he’s the best you’ll ever get. He’s not possessive, he’s controlling. You’re not the one who’s bringing up ex’s or anything, he is.

Conclusion:
At the end of the day, there are a lot of things to look out for in a guy. You can’t just think that because he matches your description of perfect, he is perfect. A first impression might be important but what’s more important is looking at all the little things. You need to stop overlooking the many flaws in the guy.

The list below and many others not mentioned here are some of the strange things we do hiding under the cover of "Culture ".

1. We care more for the dead than we do for the living!

2. We spend more to bury a person than we do to try to save that life.

3. We will not travel to go see a sick relative but to bury him /her.

4. People will rarely respect you while alive but will want to "pay their last respects" to your dead body.

5. A person may NEVER receive roses in their entire life but they will get lots dumped on their graveyard!

6. We will spend a night at a neighbour's funeral and it will be our first time to see the inside of their house!

7. No one gives a damn to know your village until you die and they will all fill car after car to "escort you" when you are dead.

8. We will take the dead to the temple while when he was still alive he didn't have anything to do with worship.

9. We might not have granite tops in our kitchens but use the granite in the graveyard!

10. An entire village might not have a single house with cement floors but the only place cement will surely be used will be a graveyard!

I propose we have "Culture Reforms". We have a culture of "hypocrisy"... a culture that is "Pro-death" and NOT "Pro-life!" We need to value life BEFORE death.

3.When you are Angry,mind your temper.

4.when you are with a group,mind your Behaviour.

5.When you are in trouble,mind your emotions.

6.When God starts blessing you,mind your ego.

1. What makes a marriage wrong is when you marry the person whom both of you don't agree on both major and minor issues (Amos 3:3).

2. There are no perfect marriages or perfect partners, marriage is the union of two imperfect people but are suitable for one another.

3. Marriage doesn't work when two wrongs enter into the union. If both demands their way, the relationship would give way due to their irreconcilable differences.

4. That a man or woman seems right now doesn't mean they'll be right for you in the future. Don't marry for the now but look into the future.

5. Why do I lay much emphasis on waiting on God to choose right? It's like climbing the rung of a ladder to see what He wants you to see and while the journey continues, you can go back to Him in case you experience any issue that may seem to be beyond your control.

6. You can't leave God out of your decision on whom to marry and get it right. It's better you pay the price to get Him involved now than to pay the price to have Him fix a wrong marriage.

7. One major saving tips on avoiding a wrong marriage is this: "Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what He wants, and He will help you go the right way" - (Proverbs 3:5-6, ERV).

8. The foundation of a wrong marriage is built on lies, deceit, premarital sex, immoralities, falsehood and on mundane things. If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

9. Don't rush into marriage, rushing cannot help you to know the right person. Don't make the decision on whom to marry when you're too young, your choice will be based on flimsy things and being immature can't help you to handle the demands of a marriage relationship.

10. Acting on pressure, desperation or impatience are not good reasons to getting married. Find a solution to all of these rather than use marriage to solve them.

11. Marrying an unbeliever is a wrong marriage, there’s no how you can make it work that it would ever succeed or become the kind of home God intended.

12. The foundation of your coming together and courtship determines the success of your marriage. Don't go into marriage because of money, sex, peer pressure, loneliness, material things, pleasure but on a conviction and confirmation that intended but of you to be together.

13. If your reasons for going into marriage isn't strong enough and both of you are committed to making it work, a day will come when you'd find a reason to call it quit.

14. "If you find a wife (spouse), you have found something good. She shows that the Lord is happy with you" - (Proverbs 18:22, ERV). Depend on God to find a wife rather than lean on your understanding to find a partner.

15. If you want God to guide you on whom to marry, be ready to pay the price (patience, prayer, perseverance) and don't lean on your own understanding (dating, cohabiting, catching them young etc).

16. It takes patience to marry right and it takes patience to have a great marriage. Impatience is one of the reasons why people enter into the wrong marriage.

17. There's no marriage made in heaven but there's a match designed in heaven. It takes two God chasers to locate themselves and build a heaven on earth marriage.

18. Married to a wrong partner leads to a wrong marriage. A wrong step into marriage leads to a wrong marriage and all these would affect your purpose in life and your unborn generation.

19. Pay the price to find and marry the right partner that's suitable for your life rather than struggle to make the wrong partner the right one in a wrong marriage.

20. That others got it wrong in marriage doesn't mean yours will be like that. Get the terms right with God and He'll make His way straight before your face.

21. Not everyone with the look of a potential partner that comes into your life will be the right one. Let God guide you so that you don't marry the wrong person.

22. Your education, exposure or experience cannot help you to know who's right for you. The best you can know is to have someone who's good for you but may not be suitable in the future. Rely on God!

23. A man or woman is a wrong partner, not because they're not beautiful/handsome, rich, caring, submissive/respectful but because they're not suitable for your life and destiny.

24. You can have a good wife or husband but when you fail to leave and cleave to your partner, your marriage will never work.

Last but not the least....
25. Don't believe the false philosophy that God doesn't guide people into marrying right. He does. He's still doing it. And He can do it for you if you can pay the price.

Recall the pics of a young man, who died on Sunday morning at Onigbongbo Bus-stop, Maryland that went viral on social media.

Scenario 1:
The story behind the pix of the dead man goes thus...
A Danfo bus brushed his car and this man left his car, removed his shoes and ran after the Danfo. As he tried to hold on to the bus, the conductor pushed him away and another Danfo bus coming behind hit and ran over him on his head and that was the end.

Now, let us relate the above incident to the 2 scenarios below:

Scenario 2:
A man and a woman were involved in an accident at the ever busy traffic hold up at Maryland by St. Agnes Church, which led to a road rage. The woman rammed into the man's car without intention & unknowingly in a rush to beat the traffic lights.

In a shocking reaction to the disgust of everyone at the scene, the man came out of his car, opened his booth to bring out his wheel spanner and broke the head lamps of the woman's car.

Surprisingly, the woman did not come out of her car, allowed the man in utter rage to satisfy himself and drove off. While it would have cost N100,000 for the woman to replace the head lamps,  the fact remains that  she left the scene intact and still remains alive.

Scenario 3:
In a bid to avoid knocking down an Okada rider, who drove against the traffic, a driver in a clearly marked bank vehicle rammed his car into a stationary vehicle.

He came out of his car and engaged the Okada rider in hot argument, both raining curses on each other. Unknown to him, the Okada rider was armed with a knife, with which he stabbed the bank driver to death and rode away. Regrettably, the driver died from the incident and his family now mourns.

Advice:
There is so much Anger in the land at this point in time and there's need for all of us to exercise restraint. As far as possible avoid arguments with strangers and If it ever happens, don't allow it to degenerate into a scuffle or violent exchange. As quickly as possible, leave the scene.

There's too much mental trauma and lawlessness in the country right now and it would require a gigantic effort on reorientation of the citizenry, if ever we are to get out of the woods.

Suffice to say that the law enforcement administration in Nigeria remains relatively  weak to bring all criminals to justice. Moreover, no level of justice can bring back to life a dead person ...

Always remember that your loved ones still needs you.

Many people are in their cars first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, seven days a week. As I am writing this piece, it makes me feel guilty and ill, wondering why one must die ignorantly.

According to research, the car dashboard, sofa and air freshener emit BENZENE  a cancer-causing toxin (Carcinogen) .

Take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car,  this smell In addition is causing cancer.
Benzene poisons your bones, causes anaemia and reduces white blood cells.

Prolonged exposure will cause leukaemia, increasing the risk of cancer. It can also cause miscarriage. Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq ft.

A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.

People who get into the car keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin.

 Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze shared photos of his young daughter lost in deep worship while he was ministering in church earlier today.  Below is what he wrote:
"Early this morning at about few minutes past 5am, I had arrived the church and put a call across to my wife who was getting ready to be in church for our 1st of the month Early Morning Prayer, I told her to tell my daughter not to fall again when she is been prayed for, according to me, I believe she doesn't understand what it means to be slain, until she understands it, she shouldn't . My wife said she had already done that before I called.

Everyone in church know that I LOVE CHILDREN. I always pray that children will encounter God early. I met God early too. I wished I even met him earlier.
Today, while I was in the front ministering, I didn't even know the media team took these pictures and my wife was in the front too. My daughter was right at the back lost in deep worship. I have noticed this even at home. She could go on for close to 20 minutes.

In church, once you separate her from other children and she isn't playing,she prays for as long as prayers last with deep concentration and brokenness and she worships in tears...

I remember all that I told God before she came. I remember all I told God again when God asked me to teach Supernatural Parenting. I remember again all that I told God when He asked me to turn it into a book. I have a book called SUPERNATURAL PARENTING. I see some of the Supernatural Manifestations I wrote about in the life of my 5 year old daughter.

Today, I repent from what I told my wife in the morning
Who said our children can't discern spiritual things very early?
Who said they can't be lost in an atmosphere of deep worship?
Who said they can't be taught of the Lord?

Who said they must be like regular children?

4. Bulk buying of groceries

Constant grocery shopping can be such a chore so we tend to buy in bulk.
However, a disadvantage of bulk buying is that some goods may expire or spoil before you get around to using them, hence cut your grocery shopping list down to necessities.
Get what you need and not what you think you will need.

5. New clothes and shoes

Your old clothes are perfectly fine!
Oh you think people have noticed you’ve had that shirt for a while? Frankly, it’s nobody’s business.
As long as your clothes are not obviously tattered, there is no use going cloth shopping every week to impress people and depress your bank account.

6. Hanging out

We all love spending quality time with friends and family but instead of going someplace where you’ll spend more than you budgeted for (more often than not), invite them to your house and plan activities everyone can participate in.
You’ll create a stronger bond and more lasting activities while saving money.

7. Vacations abroad

Also known as “the king of excesses”, vacationing abroad is officially a luxury at this point in time.
Why go and spend your hard earned ‘naira’ in a foreign country contributing to the growth of their economy while leaving yours in the backseat.

You don’t need to pay for all the channels. It’s not a competition.

Restrict your airtime to calls with purpose (work, business).
