A certain man identified as Oye Lowo Ajanaku Ayediran was Monday, stabbed to death by his wife, Yewande Ayediran nee Fatoki, in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

According to online reports, Yewande, a lawyer, is the daughter of one Honorable Fatoki and had been married to Ayediran for three years without a child.

On Monday night, she heard her husband had a son outside wedlock.
This, information, allegedly generated a heated argument between the couple resulting in a squabble and the eventual stabbing of her husband on the shoulder.

Oye had gone to the hospital to be treated and the stab wound on the right shoulder was stitched.

Thereafter, he went home to sleep. However, at the early hours of Tuesday morning while he was still sleeping due to the effect of the drugs he had taken, his wife reportedly slaughtered him and locked the door refusing to call for help and ignoring his weak plea for help.

After a while, reports say his aggrieved wife called on the Landlady who upon response saw him in the pool of his own blood. He died few minutes later.

According to claims by her alleged powerful political family, she is mentally unstable. The general belief is that the Fatokis are presently using all their influence to cover the story surrounding the death of the deceased.

As at press time, the story has taken a new dimension as Yewande is allegedly claiming to be innocent.

Meanwhile, someone claiming to be a brother to the deceased, said the husband was into property development and had come home in December 2015, to execute a job in Nigeria.

He told Punch that the family feared that apart from losing Lowo, the case might also be lost because the lady is a staff of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP.

“She is a lawyer with the Oyo State DPP at the Ministry of Justice. She is also the daughter of an Anglican venerable in Ibadan. As an employee of the DPP, she could truncate the case. We heard that her family is making efforts to cover up this dastardly act using the state judiciary,” he said.

Police PRO, Oyo State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Leye Oyebade, had ordered a thorough investigation into the case.

He added that the matter had been transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation of the command for proper probe into the alleged murder. He confirmed that the wife had been arrested.

This is what anger and impatience can lead one into. You don't have a child yet or desiring to get married, who says that is the end of life for you? Hmmm!
