The brotherhood took the case very personally.

They knocked on doors until they found their one single lead. All fingers pointed to Dr Adesina. He was the only person that was linked to Lucinda in such a manner that could suggest a relationship. Those close to Lucinda weren’t entirely sure she was telling the truth whenever she said he was like a father to her. Sharon was her closest friend and she confessed that Lucinda really like Dr Adesina but that they weren’t dating. Kingsley could affirm that even when Lucinda spoke about Dr Adesina, she respected and loved him. He was kind to her and she ran to him for help. Although he had never met Dr Adesina, Kingsley couldn’t imagine the person his sister had told him about could try to kill her. The brotherhood didn’t share the same sentiment. Dr Adesina was their only lead and they didn’t spare the moment, they set out to find out the truth from him.

Dr Adesina climbed down from his office at about 8:30PM and walked straight to the parking lot. He was completely unaware of his surroundings. There was someone dressed in a hooded sweater standing beside the car next to his. The person pretended he was trying to open the car. Dr Adesina opened his car with the remote and as he settled inside, the man that had been standing next to the other car jumped into his car and pulled out a gun.

“Be quiet and do as I Say”

As he struggled to make sense of the situation, two other people also wearing masks entered the back seat.

“We just want to talk. Drive.”

They gave him directions until they were away from the catch of assistance. They pulled him out of the car and unto the lonely road and made him knee on the ground.

“Mr Man, who is Lucinda Emmanuel to you?”

“Lulu?, I mean Lucinda?”

There was something about the way he called her ‘Lulu’ that made Kingsley know that he had special affection for his sister.

“Yes, Lucinda Emmanuel”

“She is my friend, I mean my student”

Kingsley’s instinct told him that he wasn’t the person they were looking for. He took over the interrogation.

“We are not here to hurt you. We just need answers. Tell us about Lucinda?”

The other guys were surprised at his line of questioning.

“Lucinda is a very wonderful young lady”

He began

Dr Adesina, spoke about her in the most pleasant manner. He spoke about her the way a rat would speak of a bat and describe the wings of an angel. His words were laced with affection but he was betrayed by his hint of guilt.

“Do you know what happened to her?”

“Yes I do, and it was all my fault”

….. To be continued
